Do you like to drink tea?
我喜歡喝茶 / Wo Shi Huan He Cha /  ( I like to drink tea.)

Why? That's because......whenever I drink tea, feel like my life extend few more minutes. Ha Ha!

Tea fields in the mountain in Taiwan

The most common tea is Oolong

Taiwanese tea culture has been so popular for long time. For our parents generation (above 45 years old), this is one of  one of social way between each other. I remember when I was young, wooden tea table (泡茶桌) is very common to see in a Taiwanese house. Whenever we visit someone's house, we sit next to the tea table directly.

Nowadays, young people like me don't really make tea at home as before but tea culture still important that we even have national competition in every year to find out the best one in Taiwan.
The Champion tea in 2011 was cost over than $70 dollar in one cup ( like the picture showed ). Very expensive!!

24-7 Books store 誠品書店

Tonight, where can you go if you can't sleep and don't want to stay home?
Coffee shop? Night club? Bar? Or karaoke? In Taiwan, we have different choice- Eslite Book Store ( 誠品書店 )

Book store is everywhere in every country, but I have never seen 24 hours one except in Taiwan. Sometimes, I just walk in, grab a book and find a corner to sit and read. Enjoy the moment to be along only with my book. Whenever I get tired, there is a coffee shop next to the book area.

c'est la vie

My name is Formosa 福爾摩沙

Taiwan as known as Formosa (福爾摩沙). Why? Why? Why?

                                                                                      old map made in 1554

                                                                                      old map made in 1756

In 1542, Portuguese was sailing on the way to Japan, they found the island without name on the map and exclaimed "Ilha Formos!" (Means beautiful iland.) That's how Taiwan had the first name- Formosa!

Ha, as a Taiwanese, this was what we learned in history class in hign school! Oh, little bit miss my history textbook!!!
